Thanks for visiting!
You can read more about me and my blog by clicking the About tab, but here is a “speed dating” version: I’m a writer, usually of essays. I’m a new-ish mom to 17-month-old twins. My blog is deliberately open to a variety of subject matter but my posts often center around writing, reading and twincare.
And this is me:
Here’s a quick sampling of blog posts (if you like a tasting menu). If you want the whole smorgasbord, feel free to click around the categories to the right!
- A couple of posts about reading/writing:
In Praise of Essays (which was recently published by The Equals Record)

- A few posts about parenting:

- And couple of posts about miscellaneous things:

Random BlogHer observations:
At the hotel, some of the men’s room signs were converted to women’s room signs. 5,000 lady bloggers = long bathroom lines.
I saw a dolly full of white Zappos boxes going into an elevator to be delivered. I suspect BlogHer attendees.
Wow. Walking into the Expo was like entering an Ikea showroom full of pitches and products.
I never thought I’d sing karaoke to win two stuffed uteri. But I did. Longest four minutes of my life. But worth it!
The Voices of the Year reading was one of the highlights of the conference.
Someone had to tell me the robot unicorn was actually a cake.
When I left BlogHer I realized that I had been inside the hotel for more than 50 consecutive hours. Hello, sun!
And just so you understand my confusion, here is the cake:

How did I miss you karaoke-ing for the uteri? My life is incomplete! I enjoyed meeting you, too! We’ll have to get that DC blogging community group going at some point…
Thanks for your comment! The karaoke was painful but the uteri were worth it! Looking forward to talking with you about a DC group …
I’m so glad to have spent time with you at the conference! I too would be interested in a DC blogger network/writing group, please keep me posted.
